Waiting For Santa Christmas Card

Out of the 3 cards that I made today this one has to be my favorite. I made this for 2 challenges: Die Cut Dreams and Sparle Creations.

Die Cut Dreams challenge #16 was to use ribbons and trims.

Sparkle Creations challenge was to create a Christmas card.

The image that I used is from
Simply Inger. It is called "waiting for Santa to come". It reminds me so much of my daughter. I can just picture her standing at the window waiting to see if she can see Santa arrive.

A Christmas Card

I made this Christmas card to enter into 2 challenges. Digital Ink Co and Card Patterns.

The Digital Ink Co challenge was to create a project using the following colors:
I used these colors to color in the image that I used. This image is called "waiting for Santa to come". I got it as a free download from Simply Inger.

The Card Patterns challenge was to use the following sketch:
Here is my finished card:

A Halloween Card

I made this halloween card for 3 challenges. Inktegrity, Paper Play Challenges and Creative Card Crew.

The Inktegrity challenge. The challenge was to use an Inktegrity image, mix in sprinkles & stir in dots.

The Paper Play challenge was to use spots.

The Creative Card crew challenge was "all that sparkles".

The candy corn image below is available as a free download right now on the Inketgrity blog. I colored it with LePlume markers. (I didn't notice that I had colored the candy corn wrong until I was adding the image onto my card.) Then I added frosted lace stickles to the image. I dry embossed the orange paper to achieve the spots and added a piece of yellow ribbon to soften the line between the black and the orange paper. I used a Studio G stamp for the sentiment.

Here is my finished card:

Candy

Bev is giving away this yummy candy :

More Yummy Goodies

I got up this morning and discovered that I won this stamp set....

...from Pamela. I won this by taking part in the Scrapbook Challenges Blog Hop this past weekend. Pamela was giving away 4 candies. For each candy you had to do something different. I won this one by visiting each blog and finding the answers to 5 questions that she had asked about the other members of the DT. Then email her the answers. I can't wait to use these great stamps from Unity Stamp Company. The best part is I was looking through my stamps the other day and wishing that I had more butterfly stamps to use on cards.

Thanks again Pamela!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

The challenge this week on the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog was a recipe challenge:

Use 3 embellishments, 2 papers, and 1 image

So here is the card that I made:

I wanted to keep this card simple with just the basics on it. My two paper choices are the stripped paper (not sure what product line it is from. It was a piece of paper I had in my scrap bin. Just big enough to use on this card). The other paper was simply a piece of pink cardstock. I added a hot pink ribbon to soften the line between the white card and the stripped paper. My image is from a Disney Princess clear stamp kit. And I finished it off with 3 green gems at the bottom of the page. Just a simple card, but the 3 gems just seemed to finish it out perfectly.

Just Christmas & Birthday Cards Challenge #45

The challenge this week on the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards blog was to use this sketch to create a card:

Here is the card I made for the challenge. All the stamps used are Studio G stamps.

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great day today! I did, although I have been battling a nasty cold. I spent my day first by going to church this morning and teaching Sunday School. I teach the nursery class at my church. This consists of 6 month olds through 4 year olds. Today I just had 1 child. One of my 4 year old students. So I didn't have to do alot of running around and getting winded. I would have loved to have had more of my kids there, but with this cold it was just great to be able to take it easy. After church I went to visit my parents. This is our normal Sunday routine. My mom made her homemade macaroni and cheese for lunch. (YUM). After spending the afternoon there I came home and spent time with my family and managed to sneak in an hour in my craft area. I was able to get a couple of cards done tonight and I will share them with you all tomorrow. Hope you all had as great of a day as I did today. I'll be back tomorrow to post those cards.

~Mary

1 Card 2 Challenges

This card I made for two challenges. The first is the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #24. The challenge was to create a card using the following sketch.

The other challenge was the All Sorts Challenge week 19. The challenge was to create a project using snowflakes. When I saw this challenge I knew that I just had to do it because like Kirsten, I too love snowflakes. And of course in combining these two challenges I was able to get one more Christmas card created. Since I have been participating in these challenges I have found myself making alot of Christmas cards and usually I'm trying to rush at the last minute to get them all done to send out.

So here's my finished card:

The stamp that I used is a Studio G stamp. The paper is from the Die Cuts With a View spring mat stack and the winter mat stack. I punched the snowflakes out of white cardstock and added blue gems to finish off the look.

A Very Merry Christmas Card

The challenge over at Crafting Life's Pieces this week is the following sketch.
Here is my finished card:

The stamps that I used are:

Snowman: Inkadinkado ~ Flourish: Scrappy Cat ~ Sentiment: Inkadinkado

The paper I used is from the Die Cuts With a View spring cardstock.

To get the lace look I used a Martha Stewart lace border punch.

I punched a snowflake out of white cardstock and added a blue gem to it to finish off the card.

Here's my finished card.

I made this card last night and since I had just received the stamp I decided to use it. This is the stamp I won from the Stamp A Day Giveaway on the Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm blog. This is my very first Greeting Farm stamp and I was very excited to use it on a project to show you all. Thank you again Marie and all the other wonderful ladies over at the Greeting Farm!

Thank You Cards

I wanted to give my friend some unique gifts at her baby shower this Saturday. One of the gifts I made her was hand made thank you cards. What new mom can't use thank you cards to hand out for all the wonderful goodies that she will receive for the baby?

I used Fiskars Baby Clear Stamps (pictured below) as the image and sentiment on my cards.

In order to achieve the soft lacy look at the bottom of the card, I used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border Punch. (pictured below)
I wanted to keep the thank you cards simple. As you can see below I used just 3 colors. Pink, white and black. Here is my finished card.
I made 10 and stacked them (with the envelopes) together and wrapped a pink ribbon around them. I wanted to create unique gifts for her, instead of the traditional baby clothes and diapers that people usually give. Of course I couldn't pass up a cute outfit to give her. So so far I have an outfit, the thank you cards pictured above and the photo frame pictured here. I really hope she likes them. And now I'm off to see what else I can create for her.

Tinkerbell Card

I combined 2 challenges to make this card. I used this sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. (Sketch #23)
For the Flutter By Wednesday challenge on Danni's Dreams the challenge was to create a card using the color pink and to use either a butterfly or a fairy as the image. So I decided to use a stamp that I had gotten a while ago but I had never used, Tinkerbell. I added cotton candy pink stickles to give a sparkly effect to the card.

Thanksgiving Card

I made this Thanksgiving card for two challenges. I used this sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges.

And I got my color scheme from Die Cut Dreams Challenge Blog which was chocolate & orange.

Here's the card I came up with:

The stamp that I used is a Studio G Series 36 stamp. I colored it in with Leplume Markers.

A 3 Challenge Card

I made this card to enter into 3 challenges. I used the sketch on Whimsical Wednesdays: The Diedrich Dare.

My color scheme was from the Cupcake Craft Challenge. The challenge this week was to do a card using the color scheme red, white & blue. Finally for the theme of my card I chose to use this weeks challenge of "something for the boys" from All Sorts Challenge Blog.

Here's my card:

A Picture Frame

Saturday I will be attending a baby shower for a friend. This is a picture frame that I made for her.
The saying says: She will fill our lives with sunshine and our hearts with love.
There are a few more things that I am working on for her. I will post them as soon as I have them done. I am also taking pictures of her baby shower that day and making up an album of them to give her. I hope she likes what I am doing for her as it is not a traditional baby shower gift.

Good New & Bad News

Have you ever realized just how much you rely on your printer on a daily basis? I didn't. That is until last night. After we had returned from a Labor Day out and about yesterday, I decided to do some scrapbooking while my kiddos were busy playing. Unfortunately I was unable to print any pictures out. And of course I do all my photo printing at home. At first the coloring was off and then it just didn't print anything at all. So I hollard to my hubby to come and fix the problem for me. He usually is much quicker at fixing stuff like that than I am. Well, he tried everything. He tried cleaning the printer head. He tried replacing the ink cartridges. He tried absolutely everything he could think of and then he called Kodak. But of course it was Labor Day and they were closed for the day. So I couldn't do anything last night that had to do with my printer. So as soon as they opened up this morning my darling hubby got onto the phone and contacted them. After telling them what it was doing and what he thought it was they agreed with him that it was just what he told them. The printer head was busted!!!! The good news? Kodak is sending a replacement printer head free of charge. The bad news? I'll be without a printer for a few more days while I wait for the new printer head to arrive. At least I can still make some cards while I wait!!!

Another Year Older

Today I celebrated my 33rd birthday. I have to say that even though I didn't go out and do anything elaborate I had a really good birthday. I got to spend it with my family. My hubby did have to work for a little while but he sent me an email with a nice bouquet of flowers in it. He always does something like this for me on my birthday and our anniversary. Isn't he just the sweetest?!?!?! Tommorrow I will be going and picking up my birthday gift from him. A new mouse for our computer. This is something that I have been hollaring for for some time now. The one that we have just doesn't work right anymore. I spend more time trying to keep sane as I am hollaring at the thing to "just work for a little while longer will you!" That seems to be happening a lot lately so we are going to go purchase a new one tomorrow.

We were also celebrating my nephew's birthday (Sept 15th) today too. So we shared some birthday cupcakes and ice cream.
I was able to catch this great shot of my daughter enjoying one of those cupcakes.

My Take On: Simon Says Stamp Challenge Sketch #12

This is the card that I made for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. It is the first Christmas card that I have made so far this year. This is the sketch that was posted to use.

The stamp that I used was just a simple teddy bear stamp. I'm not sure which company made the stamp as there is nothing on the stamp to say and I bought it several years ago. After stamping I decided to cut out around the bears and then paste onto the cream colored oval. Instead of just stamping onto the oval. It is hard to tell, but the teddy bears are colored in brown and tan. The Joy stamp used is a Studio G stamp. The ribbon at the bottom is actually a thin piece of the stripped paper that I used at the top of the card.

A Couple Cards

I made this first card using a free digital stamp from Bird's Cards. You can get the free stamp here. I used colored pencils to color in the carriage different shades of pink and then I used Cotton Candy Stickles to go over different areas of the carriage. I added three pink gems to the bottom of the card. It's a simple card, but a card that would be great to give to any little princess.
This next card I made for a friend at church who happens to have the same birthday as me. I'm not sure what company the stamp is from. As the stamp wasn't marked and I purchased it several years ago. It's hard to tell but the bears are colored in light brown and tan.
