Longing Tilda

I created this thank you card for my daughter's cheering squad to give to their coach.

I used the week 1 sketch from Viva La Verve.

I colored the image Longing Tilda with Spectrum Noir Pens.

I used light purple, orchid, lily pond (sage green) and white card stock and a lavender floral patterned paper. The embossing is done using a dot embossing folder.  I used two different butterfly punches and an eyelet lace border punch. I cut around the image using scallop scissors.  On the two larger butterflies I added 3 mini purple rhinestones and on all three I added diamond stickles.  I also added more embellishment with 3 light purple gems and a piece of light purple dotted ribbon.  I decided to stamp the sentiment directly onto the card under the image. Here is my finished card.....

Cheerleader Tilda

My daughter is in her 4th year as a Winterport Diamond cheerleader for our town's rec department.   The girls have been working very hard on a routine that they will be performing on Saturday for friends and family. The age range of this group of girls is 2nd through 8th grade.  One of the girls on the squad, Bella (a 2nd grader), just recently got diagnosed with a disorder that affects the strength in her muscles.  And because of this she had to stop cheering. She was very disappointed that she couldn't continue with her sisters. So the coach and the rest of the girls decided to make her the co-coach for the squad. The girls wanted to show Bella how much they appreciate her and how special she is to them so they asked if I would make a card for the squad to sign for her (they will also be giving one to the coach).  Here is what I came up with.....

The Diamonds wear pink and black uniforms with silver pom poms. So I continued this color theme onto the card showcasing Magnolia Stamps' Cheerleader Tilda. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Pens. To create the sparkle on the pom poms I added silver and diamond stickles.  I also added a "D" to the front of the uniform using silver stickles.

Little Elf Kia

Hi and thanks for visiting.  Today I made a birthday card that I would like to share with you.

The image I used is Little Elf Kia from Aurora Wings.  I colored her up using Spectrum Noir markers.  To create the sky background I tinted around the image using chalk.

The sketch I used is from the current challenge at Sketch Saturday.

To create my card I started with a 5 x 5 pink base.  Then I cut a piece of pale pink card stock slightly smaller than the base and embossed half of it using a dot embossing folder. It is a little hard to see it in this photo but if you look close enough you can see the piece of white floral vellum that I added to the top of the other side.  I added a piece of pink card stock below the vellum and added a white ribbon between the two pieces.  I backed this in white card stock and added it to my card.

I layered a tiny pink paper flower onto a white paper flower and added a light pink gem to the center. I added leaves that I punched out of sage green card stock and branches that I punched out of white card stock.  I punched 3 mini butterflies out of pink card stock and added one to the flower and two to the image.  I also added crystal stickles to the butterflies, white flower and branches.  I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom of the card and added 3 light pink gems above the sentiment and 3 more to the corner of the vellum.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Alicia The Strawberry Pirate

Hi all... I couldn't help myself.  I have another entry for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Krafty Guest Contest over on Facebook.

For this birthday card I used Alicia The Strawberry Pirate from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  I colored her using Spectrum Noir pens,

I started with a 5 x 5 black card base. I added a piece of hot pink card stock backed in orange paper. I added two pieces of orange pin dot card stock that I backed in black card stock.  I layered a piece of white ribbon onto a slightly larger piece of black ribbon and added it to the bottom piece of orange pin dot card stock.

I backed the image in hot pink card stock and cut around it using scallop scissors and then backed it again in black.  I added 3 pink paper flowers to the ribbon and added a black pearl to the center of each.  I also added 3 more black pearls to the upper corner of the card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the bottom corner.

I finished off the inside of the card by layering a piece of white card stock backed in hot pink card stock onto a piece of orange pin dot card stock onto hot pink card stock.

Tinkerbell

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I created this birthday card as an entry into the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Krafty Guest Contest over on Facebook.

For my card I used Tinkerbell from  Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I colored her using Spectrum Noir pens and added silver stickles to her bells and diamond stickles to her wings and eyebrows.

To create my card I started with a 5 x 5" white card base.  I covered it in rain card stock. Then I cut a piece of black card stock just slightly smaller than the card base.  To the black piece I added a piece of white striped card stock, a piece of aqua card stock that I embossed using a dot embossing folder and a piece of aqua sponge card stock.  I also added a piece of licorice seam binding before adding it to the card base.

I stamped the sentiment "wishing you a special day to celebrate your birthday" directly onto the aqua sponge card stock piece.  Before adding the image to my card I backed it in aqua and rain card stock.  I added a pale purple rose to the center of a white paper flower and added it to the seam binding.  To finish my card I added 3 purple gems to the upper corner of my card and 3 more under the image.

For You

Hi all..... hope everyone had a great weekend.  We got hit again with more snow.  I don't think I have ever wanted to see spring so much as I do right now.  It seems like it is always snowing.  This last snow fall started Saturday night and it's still snowing tonight. So, to get over my winter blues and get my thoughts on springtime I decided to work on a springtime birthday card.  I used the photo inspiration from the Creative Colors challenge for inspiration.

I started with a pastel yellow card base.  To the center I added a piece of pastel blue and white plaid patterned paper backed in pastel pink and white card stock. I embossed a piece of pastel pink card stock using a dot embossing folder and backed it in white card stock.  I added a piece of pastel blue dot patterned paper.  I punched one side of a piece of pastel yellow card stock using an eyelet lace border punch and added it so it was peaking out from behind the dotted paper.

The image I used is Thanks from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored it using Spectrum Noir pens and then cut it out in a circle.  I backed it in pastel yellow card stock and cut around it using scalloped scissors. I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock, backed it in pastel pink card stock and cut around it with scalloped scissors.  I punched the end of a strip of pastel blue dot patterned paper and a strip of pastel pink card stock using a star punch.

I created the flower using two punches from EK Success.  First I punched 3 flowers out of pastel pink card stock. I folded each petal in half and layered them to make one flower.  I added a light pink gem to the center.  I also added 2 leaves punched out of sage green card stock.  I punched 3 tiny butterflies out of pastel pink card stock, pastel yellow card stock and pastel blue dot patterned paper.  I added diamond stickles to them.  I added 3 light pink gems to the upper corner.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Polka Dot Pals Katie

I created this birthday card using this week's sketch at Sketchy Colors.

For my color combination I used the photo inspiration from the current challenge at Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge. I chose to use all 3 colors pink, blue and red. Plus I used hearts and plaid.

papersweeties-inspiration#28
To create my card I started with a red 5 x 5 card base.  I added a piece of white card stock cut about 1/8" smaller than the card base.  Then I added a piece of pink card stock cut about 1/8" smaller than the white card stock.  I added a piece of white and pink heart patterned paper backed in both red and white card stock.  To that I added a piece of blue and white plaid patterned paper backed in both red and white card stock.  To create the corner piece I cut a 2 x 2 piece of red card stock in half to create the triangle and punched one edge using an eyelet lace border punch.

The image I used is Polka Dot Pals Katie from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I colored her using Spectrum Noir pens, cut it into a circle, backed it in red card stock and cut around it using scallop scissors.  I added red stickles to the circles on her hair bows and pants. I stamped the sentiment "happy birthday" onto white card stock and backed it in both red and white card stock. I finished my card by adding 3 red goosebump gems to the upper corner of the card.
